(VOVworld) - Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong has visited Phu Quoc island district in the southern province of Kien Giang to review local socio-economic development, national defense and Party building.

He asked local authorities to prepare well for the upcoming Party congresses at all levels. He suggested further development in eco-tourism with a focus on historical and spiritual sites, maritime economy as part of the proposal to turn Phu Quoc into an administrative and economic hub of Kien Giang.

He asked local leaders to ensure social security and order while continued with the implementation of the Party resolutions on Party building and the movement to learn from President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example.
