At a working session in Hanoi with the Documents Subcommittee and the Party Charter Subcommittee of the 14th National Party Congress, the Party chief said the upcoming Congress associated with the country's 40 years of reform, 50 years of complete liberation of the South and reunification of the country (1975-2025), 80 years of establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (1945-2025), and 95 years of the Party’s founding (1930-2025).

General Secretary To Lam requested that the draft Political Report must deepen the views on major economic goals as a basis for implementing the socio-economic report to ensure consistency and suitability with the set goals, as well as available resources and solutions. He emphasized the cross-cutting issue of achieving the two 100-year goals of rapid and sustainable development, avoiding the risk of falling behind.

“We must continue to deepen and clarify the three strategic breakthrough solutions to institutions, human resources and infrastructure. Special attention is paid to innovating thinking in building institutions to remove bottlenecks and unclogging resources, resolutely not letting the handcuffing mechanism hinder development,” Mr. Lam said.

Regarding the report on Party building work and implementation of the Party Charter, the General Secretary requested efforts to keep improving the Party's capacity to plan policies and guidelines, and strongly innovate the promulgation, thorough grasping and implementing resolutions of the Party, so that each newly issued resolution can solve practical problems and be effectively implemented in practice.
