General Secretary Lam on Monday chaired a Hanoi working session with the Party Central Committee’s Policy and Strategy Commission on drafting a Resolution on strategic solutions to boost double-digit economic growth coupled with establishing a new growth model.
The Resolution must be a comprehensive blueprint for Vietnam's double-digit economic growth model until 2045, he said, adding that growth must ensure stability, quality, inclusiveness, greenness, and self-reliance.
“Institutional reform must be implemented substantively and thoroughly, turning institutions into a competitive advantage. Legal regulations must be clear and have high legal validity. It’s imperative to build a team of officials with vision, capacity, and especially integrity and a clean, corruption-free political system that effectively supports the people and businesses."
"Efforts should be made to maintain macroeconomic stability, control inflation, and ensure major balances, while developing strategic infrastructure, high-quality human resources, national governance capacity, and linking growth with social equity, environmental protection, and climate change adaptation. We will not trade growth for inflation, asset bubbles, and uncontrolled public debt.”
The General Secretary particularly emphasized that growth must be placed within the overall context of ensuring national defense, security, social welfare, and environmental protection. Stability, fairness, and sovereignty should not be sacrificed for mere growth and should create a solid foundation for development until 2045.
