High on the agenda of the 2nd plenum of the 14th Party Central Committee are the full-term working program of the Committee; working regulations of the Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat; and a review of key resolutions on inspection and supervision of the fight against corruption, wastefulness, and negativity.
Delegates will also discuss leadership positions in state agencies for the 2026-2031 term, the 5-year socio-economic development plan through 2031, national financial planning, and the medium-term public investment plan.
“The Plenum will deliberate and decide on many critically important issues that form the foundation for implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress. These decisions will directly impact the Party’s leadership capacity and governance, the performance of the political system, as well as rapid and sustainable national development in the 2026-2031 period and beyond,” Party leader To Lam said.
“The outcomes of this Plenum will serve as ‘legal corridors’, ‘operational rules’,‘discipline principles’, and ‘standards for action’ to bring the Party’s resolutions to life, laying a solid foundation for achieving the nation’s two centenary goals.”
The Plenum is scheduled to run until Friday.
