At a meeting with visiting Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda in Hanoi on Thursday, Mr, Man said the establishment of Parliamentary Friendship Groups provides a solid foundation for stronger bilateral cooperation in various areas.

The NA Chairman called on both sides to continue promoting high-level delegation exchanges and closely coordinating at multilateral parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting.

Chairman Man spoke highly of the Lithuanian Parliament’s early ratification of the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and expressed hope that Lithuania will encourage the remaining EU member states to soon ratify the agreement, thereby facilitating business cooperation between the two sides.

He also called for Lithuania’s support in urging the European Commission to soon lift the IUU “yellow card” on Vietnam’s seafood exports.
