The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) published on its Twitter account documents related to settlements, Gaza, and prisoners that have been submitted to the court. The Palestinian ambassador to the Netherlands was quoted as saying that Palestinian Authority Foreign Minister, Riyad al-Maliki, is expected to lead a delegation to the court to file the petition. He affirmed that the ICC may take 5 to 10 years to resolve Palestine’s documents. Mustafa Barghouti, head of the Palestinian National Initiative party and a member of the PLO Central Council, said that the Palestinian’s goal “is to prove war crimes were carried out so the chief prosecutor will launch an investigation”. He added that the PLO was looking to remove the immunity of “Israel and its leaders” and put the state on trial. Barghouti said that Palestine wants to restore justice, implement human rights, protect Palestinians, and prosecute perpetrators.
