This is the latest development in the context of a stalemate in peace negotiations between the government and the Taliban. According to Pakistani Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the Pakistani government has made basic changes in its security policy and decided to target terrorist leaders.
The Minister Khan did not detail this new security policy and said that a copy of the draft security policy will be discussed by parliamentarians in the future. On Tuesday, the Pakistani cabinet approved the new security policy, ending years of waiting for a unified code of conduct on terrorism. This policy will be implemented after being debated by Pakistan’s National Assembly.
