(VOVworld) – The Government Web Portal on Wednesday hosted an online discussion, where the people contributed their opinions to the draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution. Asked about new contents in the constitutional revision, Deputy Head of the National Assembly’s Economic Committee Nguyen Van Phuc said the revision aims uphold people’s rights for mastery based on the principle of all state power belonging to the people. Deputy Minister of Justice Hoang The Lien said the draft amendments affirm that the State of Vietnam is a socialist state governed by law, of the people, by the people, and for the people. It says state power is uniform with the share of tasks, coordination and control between the legislative, executive and judicial agencies. The revision defines the authority of each agency in the state apparatus, and make clear the relationship between agencies and champion people’s direct democracy. It also stipulates the rights to assembly to get the people involved in the control of state power, confirms the principle of national unity with the Fatherland Front functioning as supervisory and questioning organization towards the state agencies.
