(VOVworld) – The Ministry of Justice held a national online conference on Friday on implementing the Law on Household Registration. Representatives of the Ministry briefed participants on major new stipulations of the law, in particular regulations simplifying household registration procedures. The Law stipulates that each individual has the right to choose where to register their household registration and is no longer restricted to their residential areas.
Local departments of justice reported on implementation of the law and ways to ensure effective implementation, and analyzed considerations for People’s Committees at the district level when handling applications for household registrations involving foreigners.
The Law on Household Registration will take effect on January 1st, 2016. The government will promulgate regulations on the law’s implementation.
