One Health is an integrated, unified approach that aims to sustainably balance and optimize the health of people, animals, and ecosystems. Deputy Minister Tien said that participants at the forum, jointly held by several Vietnamese ministries and USAID, renewed their commitments to strengthening cooperation in fighting zoonoses.

“Multidisciplinary collaboration and multilateral cooperation are the guiding star for epidemic prevention and control, no matter where the disease occurs. One Health is the optimal approach to ensure safety for the planet and for community health," he said.

"There are currently 100 One Health projects and programs in Vietnam, twice the number during the 2016-2020 period. Five technical groups have been established, covering pandemic prevention and control, food safety, antibiotics resistance, and other issues.”

USAID’s Mission Director for Vietnam Aler Grubs pledged continued support for Vietnam’s development, peace, and prosperity goals, including combatting emerging infectious diseases.
