In a statement, the OIC, which represents more than 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide, said it rejects the US-Israeli plan as it does not meet the minimum rights and aspirations of the Palestinian people and contradicts the terms of reference of the peace process. The OIC reiterated its support for East Jerusalem as Palestine’s future capital. It said peace will only be achieved by ending the Israeli occupation of the territory of the State of Palestine, particularly the holy city of Jerusalem and Palestinian territories occupied since 1967.
