Earlier the same day, President Thuong met the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Japan. He emphasized that leaders of both countries wish to elevate bilateral ties for the sustainable development of both countries and their people.
At a reception for Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance, Toshihiro Nikai, former Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, and a number of other parliamentarians in the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), President Thuong emphasized the importance of enhancing exchanges between parliamentarians of both countries and urged further cooperation in new areas such as digital transformation, green transformation, high-tech agriculture, education, labor, and tourism.
The Japanese officials affirmed that they support stronger cooperation with Vietnam in all fields and vowed to promote the Vietnam-Japan University project as a symbol of cooperative relations between the two countries.
