Right after the welcome ceremony, the Vietnamese Prime Minister held talks with his Japanese counterpart Kishida Fumio. The two Prime Ministers agreed to issue a joint statement elevating Vietnam-Japan relations to a new height.

After the talks, they witnessed the ministries and sectors of the two countries exchanging memorandums of understanding in healthcare, defense, industry, trade, environment, and human resource training.
