Putin and Obama reiterated the need for political dialogue, a ceasefire agreement, and ensuring the interests of all Ukrainians, including the people in south-eastern Ukraine. They agreed to hold more meetings to seek a solution to the on-going conflict.
Mr Obama had a telephone call on Tuesday with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, in which the two leaders agreed to co-ordinate closely with each other after the Normandie Summit in Minsk between Russia, Germany, France, and Ukraine.
