(VOVworld) – Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit began an official visit to Vietnam on Wednesday, at the invitation of Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan. The visit aims to further boost Vietnam and Norway’s cooperation, especially in trade and industry.

At talks with Prince Haakon on Wednesday morning, Ms. Doan spoke highly of the visit, saying that Vietnam and Norway had great potential for cooperation. The visit is an opportunity for the two countries to foster cooperative ties especially in economics, trade and investment. Prince Haakon said: "There is a rather large delegation with us on this trip representing many country’s leading companies in tourism, trade, maritime and marine industries. We are going to have a conference on it and there will be many opportunities to discuss with Vietnamese counterparts and I think there would be a lot of opportunities for fruitful cooperation in the coming time"
This is the second visit by Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon Magnus and Crown Princess Mette-Marit, since 2004. During the visit, the Prince will visit the Mekong River Delta and projects funded by the Norwegian government in Hue.
