(VOVWORLD) - North Korea conducted on Saturday a test-fire of super-large multiple rocket launchers, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

The three shells of multiple rocket launchers precisely hit a target island in the eastern coast, demonstrating their combat performance, KCNA said.

Early on Sunday, a long-range artillery sub-unit in the western area of the Korean People's Army fired one shell towards the eastern coast with a delivered super-large multiple rocket launcher.

South Korea’s news site Yonhap quoted South Korea's military as saying that North Korea fired one short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) into the eastern coast on Sunday.

The Kyodo news agency reported, citing the Japanese Defense Ministry, that the impact area was outside Japan's exclusive economic zone, adding the missiles or their debris did not damage aircraft or ships.
