Thursday’s meeting focused on economics-trade, particularly finding a new approach to energy cooperation after the North American Free Trade Agreement was signed 20 years ago.Participants will have to tackle some thorny issues: the 5.3-million-USD Keystone XL pipeline project to carry oil from Canada to the US state of Texas, comprehensive immigration reform between the US and Mexico, and Ottawa’s tightened visa requirements for Mexican travelers in 2009.
