“It is essential to secure crude oil imports, maintain the safe and stable operation of refineries, and optimize processing capacity. Relevant ministries must closely monitor daily fuel prices and strictly address hoarding, price manipulation, smuggling and other market-distorting practices,” the PM said.

He noted that the situation also presents an opportunity to restructure production, business operations and energy supply systems to better adapt to new conditions. PM Chinh called for strengthening strategic fuel reserves and diversifying markets and supply sources.

He assigned ministries and agencies to coordinate with the Government Office to issue decisions on tax and fee reductions for fuel and input materials as early as Thursday to support people and businesses. They were also instructed to closely monitor food prices to help control the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

PM Chinh also called for developing fuel reserve infrastructure, promoting energy conservation and green transition, and holding press briefings every five days to provide timely and transparent updates on fuel supply and prices.
