Linh, ranked 26th in the world, quickly prevailed over Sugiyama, ranked 48th, and won the first set, scoring of 21-15. In the second set, she secured a score of 22-20, finishing the match 2-0.
The Vietnam Open, part of the Badminton World Federation’s (BWF) Super 100 series, was held from September 10 to 15 at Nguyen Du Gymnasium, Ho Chi Minh City, with 307 male and female players from 22 countries competing.
The Vietnamese top female player will leave for the Victor China Open 2024 to take place from September 17 to 22.
