House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said this will be a bipartisan committee. The new committee, chaired by Republican Representative Mike Gallagher, to address such issues as bringing jobs back from China to the US, securing intellectual property, and bringing supply chains back to the US. In addition to those issues, there has been friction between the US and China over the US’s huge trade deficit with China.
