(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam-US trade totaled a record of 100 billion USD last year despite the COVID-19 pandemic. making the US one of Vietnam’s largest export markets.

Early last year, bilateral trade was shadowed by the US’s investigations into Vietnam’s foreign currency management and origins of Vietnamese timber. After two investigations, the US decided not to impose tariffs on Vietnamese products thanks to good coordination between the two countries’ agencies. Experts say the growth of bilateral trade will bring along more investigations and trade remedies under the WTO framework and at the request of American businesses.

With good preparation, Vietnamese businesses can increase their sale in the US market, according to experts.
