(VOVWORLD) - The new Phong Chau bridge in Phu Tho province was inaugurated on Sunday in the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, who hailed the completion of the project in less than a year as a testament to the strong bond between the people and the Party and State, as well as between the people and the Vietnam People’s Army.

Recalling the heavy human and material losses and the serious impact of the typhoon on residents, trade, transportation, and production along both banks of the Red River, Mr. Chinh said the new bridge demonstrates the trust and close coordination among ministries, agencies, localities, and citizens.

Construction began in December last year and was completed three months ahead of schedule.
