Rutte met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv and discussed a plan to end the conflict in Ukraine.
Addressing a joint press conference, Rutte reaffirmed NATO's support for Ukraine to become a NATO member. “Ukraine is closer to NATO than ever before. And will continue on this path until you become a member of our Alliance,” he said.
President Zelensky said he discussed with the new NATO Secretary General the battlefield situation and his plan to end the conflict in Ukraine.
