(VOVworld) - A ceremony was held on Sunday on the ship 624 at the Vanguard Bank in the East Sea to commemorate naval soldiers who died while working on Vietnam’s southern continental shelf.  In past decades, soldiers of Battalion DK1 have served at the economic-scientific-service cluster DK1 to defend sea and island sovereignty. Storms devastated several DK1 platforms, claiming lives of a number of officers and soldiers in 1990, 1996, and 1999. Their sacrifice, a symbol of naval soldiers’ heroic virtue, inspire DK1 soldiers to honor their mission to defend Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty and continental shelf.
