NATO-led mission begins training Afghan army in Herat province

(VOVWORLD) -The NATO-led Resolute Support (RS) mission began providing training to units of the Afghan National Army in Herat province on Sunday, said an army commander in the western region.

General Mohammad Nasir Hedayat said that hundreds of army personnel will learn how to fight terrorists in the mountains and in urban areas. The course will last four weeks. More than 14,000 NATO-led RS forces are presently in Afghanistan providing training and advice to Afghan security forces.
