The German government announced an expansion of its air patrol operations in Poland, doubling the number of Eurofighter jets to four and extending their deployment until December 31, instead of ending on September 30, as originally planned. German Defense Ministry spokesperson Stefan Kornelius said that Berlin will also continue supporting Ukraine and is working with the European Union to swiftly approve the 19th sanction package against Russia.

On the same day, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the deployment of three Rafale fighter jets to help protect Polish airspace. He emphasized that European security is a top priority and confirmed that he discussed the issue with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
