He told reporters that their differences concern the situation in and around Ukraine and the implications for European security. It’s a positive sign, he said, that all NATO allies sat down at the same table with Russia and engaged on substantive topics. He said NATO wants to discuss concrete ways to increase the transparency of military exercises, tighten arms control, and reduce space and cyber threats.
Russia hasn’t responded to NATO yet. It said it needs more time to think about its answer.
