NATO has no consensus on Ukraine's accession to alliance

(VOVWORLD) - NATO countries have not yet come to a consensus on whether Ukraine should be part of the organization, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance Jens Stoltenberg said in an interview with HBO TV channel on Sunday.

Stoltenberg noted that NATO has strengthened relations with Ukraine.

Earlier this month, Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov said that any ambition to promote Ukraine's membership in NATO is unacceptable.

The US and Ukraine have recently signed a new strategic agreement in which the US reaffirmed its support for Kiev's desire to join NATO.
