The display entitled "Essence of Eastern Land-Hai Duong Antiquities" was opened on Sunday by Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Duong province in collaboration with the Eastern Land Antiquities Association.

The public is introduced to two of the 11 national treasures currently kept and displayed at the Hai Duong Provincial Museum. Among them, Hiep An brown flower ceramic jar was made from white clay, coated with ivory yellow glaze, brown glaze and light grey drawing. The original artifact has a unique form and symbolizes  the heyday of ceramic art of the Tran Dynasty. It was discovered in Hiep An commune, Kinh Mon town, Hai Duong province in 1981 and were recognized as a national treasure on January 18 this year.

On display are also over 800 antiques dated from the Dong Son Culture to the early 20th century and collected from nearly 60 collectors inside and outside Hai Duong. The Dong Son culture was a Bronze Age culture in ancient Vietnam centered at the Red River Valley of northern Vietnam from 1000 BC until the first century AD.
