The national population database center and the citizen ID management system debut on June 22, 2021.

Addressing the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh underscored the importance of the database, calling it a stride in the national governance reform and digital transformation.

“It’s important to promote online public services and connect different national databases to serve socio-economic development and the fight against COVID-19," said Mr. Chinh.

The national population database should be updated regularly and shared among ministries and agencies, the PM noted.
