National Patriotic Emulation Congress opens in Hanoi

(VOVWORLD) -2,223 delegates are attending the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, which opened Saturday at the National Convention Center in Hanoi and aims to inspire the aspiration to build a prosperous and powerful Vietnam.

The Congress is themed “Emulation for Innovation and Creativity, Accelerating Breakthroughs to Usher the Nation into an Era of Powerful, Civilized, and Prosperous Development.”

Participants include 41 overseas Vietnamese and foreign nationals who have made significant contributions to Vietnam. The oldest delegate is Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh, 98, a Labor Hero and former Vice President of Vietnam. The five youngest delegates are 11-year-old pupils.

This Congress reviews the emulation movement and reward work for the period 2021-2025, commends outstanding individuals and collectives, and sets forth directions and tasks for the next five years, generating fresh momentum to fulfill socio-economic development tasks and strengthen defense and security in the 2026-2030 period.

A special art program at the Quan Ngua Gynasium in Hanoi on Friday evening celebrated the Congress, portraying the remarkable achievements from a difficult past to a prosperous present and a bright future, igniting the flame of aspiration in the hearts of every Vietnamese citizen.
