Mr. Phuc told reporters at press conference in Hanoi on Friday that the upcoming session will focus on law making to approve 7 draft laws, like the revised Law on Education, the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Public Investment Law, and the Law on Alcohol Harm Prevention. The Assembly will decide major socio-economic, budget, and oversight issues. A Q&A session will run for 2 and half days.
Hoang Thanh Tung, Vice Head of National Assembly Office answered a reporter’s question on the Assembly’s revision of laws relating to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). Mr. Tung said: “The National Assembly will discuss and approve the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Businesses and the Law on Insurance, and Intellectual Property Rights. They are two out of laws that need to be revised in accordance with the National Assembly Resolution on Ratifying the CPTPP. The revision of these two laws will help realize Vietnam’s commitments to the agreement.”
