(VOVworld) - The National Assembly Standing Committee has commented on a government report concerning anti-corruption work this year. The Government Inspectorate has detected 73 corruption cases worth 117 billion dong since early this year. Delegates called for more efficient measures to prevention corruption, especially contributions from public and media reports and identification of leadership responsibility. At Wednesday's meeting of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly Law Committee, Phan Trung Ly
said:
"Very few cases were transferred to criminal investigation while more are resolved administratively. I praise the role played by the Fatherland Front and the media in the fight against corruption.”
Later in the day, delegates commented on amendments to the Law on Public Notary. They called for more socialization of notary services and an improvement in notary personnel competency. They said the law should clearly define the legal status of notary staff and their responsibility as well as providing training support and insurance policies for them.
