(VOVworld) - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and
high ranking delegation started a visit to the European countries of Sweden,
Hungary and the Czech Republic today/ on Thursday. National Assembly leader
Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan’s visit was made at the invitation of Speaker
of the Swedish Parliament Urban Ahlin, President of the Hungarian parliament, László
Kövér and President of the Czech Senate Milan Stech. Sweden, the first stop of
the visit, was
the first western country to set up diplomatic relations with Vietnam. Over the
past 40 years, bilateral ties have been accelerated with coordination at
regional and international inter-parliamentary forums, especially the
Inter-Parliamentary Union. Speaker of the Swedish Parliament Urban
Ahlin visited Vietnam in April 2015. Former National Assembly Chairman Nong Duc
Manh had an official visit to Sweden in 1993.

Upon
her arrival in Stockholm, Charwoman Ngan was received at the Arlanda
International Airport by Deputy Secretary General of the Assembly, Claes
Martensson, Head of International Relations, Ann Louise Mansson, Vietnamese
Ambassador to Sweden Doan Thi Phuong Dung and representatives of local
Vietnamese and embassy staff. Ngan is expected to hold talks with her Swedish
counterpart Urban Ahlin and worked with Minister of Trade and EU Affairs, Ann
Linde.
