Delegates said the Council will supervise the implementation of policies and law on education of ethnic minority groups, the management of land originally owned by state farms, and investment in infrastructure for mountainous areas and areas inhabited by ethnic groups. Deputy Tong Thanh Binh representing Lai Chau province said:“Assessing implementation of policies on infrastructure investment in mountainous areas is a broad issue. It’s important to break the issue down into parts for more specific oversight.”
On Saturday, the Ethnic Council will carry out a fact-finding tour of the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism on the outskirts of Hanoi.
