(VOVworld)- National Assembly deputies discussed the draft law on the National Assembly organization in Hanoi on Monday. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu chaired the discussion. Under the draft law, a Secretary General of the National Assembly will replace the current Secretariat of the National Assembly meeting. In regard to the number of deputies, most agreed that there should be a total of 500. Nguyen Van Tuyet is a deputy from Ba Ria-Vung Tau province: "I agree with Article 41 which stipulates that the total number of deputies should not exceed 500 because if it must be that figure, it will be complicated for us to elect more deputies in case of shortage. I think we should raise the number of full-time deputies from 35% to 45% to improve the efficiency of the National Assembly’s operation”.

On the same day, the National Assembly approved the Law on Entry, Exit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam and discussed revisions to the Law on Social Insurance.
