Chairing the meeting, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said support measures from the State were an urgent and important task. She praised the Government’s drastic action to ensure social welfare and stabilise business and production during the pandemic.
NA Chairwoman Ngan said that timely and direct support from the Government would reassure people and encourage them to join the fight against the disease as well as contribute to the nation’s socio-economic development. She called for prompt implementation of the support policies. She also asked for strict oversight and monitoring of the implementation to prevent a lack of transparency or profiteering.
20 million Vietnamese, including the poor, the unemployed, social beneficiaries, and household businesses who have had to suspend their business, will benefit from the government’s relief package to cope with the Covid-19, according to Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung.
