NA Standing Committee’s 36th session wraps up

Addressing the closing meeting, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung asked functional officials and agencies to urgently complete preparations for the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union General Assembly to be held in Hanoi later this month. He urged the law drafting and appraisal agencies to work closely together to finalize the debated bills before submitting them to the NA’s next meeting.

The NA is scheduled to adopt 11 bills and 1 resolution at the 9th plenary from May 20 to June 25, 2015

On Monday, the National Assembly Standing Committee discussed the law- and ordinance-building program for the 13th National Assembly this year and plans for next year. The National Assembly is scheduled to approve 28 bills and debate 26 bills this year. The law-building plans for next next will cover 31 bills, 2 draft ordinances, and 1 draft resolution of the National Assembly.

Most of the deputies agreed with the appraisal report by the NA’s Law Committee and suggested some adjustments to the law-building program. They recommended delaying the submission of the bill on demonstrations to the 2nd session of the 14th National Assembly on October 2016.

The NA Standing Committee also discussed preparations for the 9th plenary of the 13th National Assembly scheduled from May 20th to June 25th, when the deputies will discuss and adopt 11 bills and 1 resolution.
