The National Assembly is expected to approve laws and other guidance for implementing the 2013 Constitution. High on the agenda are discussions about orientations, tasks and measures to boost socio-economic development, external affairs, and national defense activities in the next 5 years. Delegates will also do their best to complete the ratification of the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement at the upcoming National Assembly meeting. Chairman Hung asked the committee and related agencies to review and speed up preparations for the upcoming elections of deputies for the National Assembly and People’s Councils: "The elections will select the best deputies to represent the people’s power and aspirations. I called for greater contributions from National Assembly deputies to make the event a success."

Following the opening ceremony, the NA Standing Committee analyzed a proposal to amend the Program on Law Building and Ordinance Building 2016. They approved the proposal by the Supreme People’s Court to discuss the Law on temporary emergency measures before suing in 2010.
