The Committee members approved the amendment to the Law on Water Resources and stressed the need to continue to thoroughly grasp and fully institutionalize the Politburo's conclusion on water source security and safety of dams and reservoirs by 2030, with a vision to 2045.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that given the severe degradation of water resources, the draft Law needs to add the concept of restoration and protection of water resources, or protection and development of water resources.
