Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son presented the two drafts at the ongoing 9th session of the 15th National Assembly in Hanoi on Thursday.
He said the resolutions aim to achieve nationwide universal preschool education for children aged 3 to 5 by 2030.
“The policy includes investing in the development of a school network, infrastructure, and basic teaching equipment, ensuring sufficient preschool teachers as per regulations, guaranteeing adequate operational funding for public preschool institutions, and revising and supplementing policies for children, teachers, administrators, and staff in the preschool sector,” said Son.
He added, “A breakthrough policy is prioritizing investment in preschool education development in ethnic minority and disadvantaged regions; island, coastal, and border areas; and industrial park and export processing zones.”
Minister Son explained the aim of the other draft resolution, “The other draft resolution stipulates tuition exemptions for preschool children and general education students at public educational institutions and proposes tuition support for general education students at private institutions.”
“The inclusion of private institutions aims to promote equal access to education in accordance with the 2013 Constitution and conclusions and directives of the Party’s Politburo and Secretariat,” said Minister Son.
