At the ongoing National Assembly session, deputies commented on the Government's report on socio-economic development, saying the last months of 2022 and the beginning of this year have been difficult times for the country.

They urged for strengthening the macroeconomic foundation, controlling inflation, and improving the autonomy of the economy. There must be urgent and unprecedented solutions to support the business circle, according to deputy Hoang Duc Thang, who represents Quang Tri Province.

“Enterprises are considered as the backbone of the economy. When businesses grow, the country flourishes. So, the Government needs to choose a breakthrough, which is to make all out efforts to remove difficulties, and create the best environment and conditions for business recovery and development," Thang said.

"It’s necessary to immediately review and remove institutional barriers. Besides, efforts should be made to clear credit capital flows, reform administrative procedures, improve the investment environment and competitiveness and minimize costs for businesses.”

Many deputies asked the Government to drastically disburse public investment capital for the National Target Program, especially the North-South expressway projects, and review regulations on public investment toward stronger decentralization. Other focuses are speeding up the equitization and divestment of state-owned enterprises according to the approved roadmap, and the development of road traffic infrastructure.
