(VOVworld) – NA deputies today continued to debate ways to reduce crime and corruption. The deputies underlined the need to increase communications and education and involve the entire political system, society, and people from all walks of life in the fight against crime and social evils. They also called for effective models to prevent crime including the program currently in operation in Hanoi. This model dubbed as 141 involves criminal police, traffic police, and mobile police.

The deputies also highlighted more administrative reforms, deterrent sanctions, and measures to protect corruption whistle blowers. They said more attention should be given to investigation and judgment of corruption cases. Truong Trong Nghia, a deputy from Ho Chi Minh City, focused on the morality of high-ranking officials in state agencies ‘If leaders are incorruptible and veracious with good morality, they will be determined to fight against corruption and can gather honest staff to join the effort. This is a vital factor. Once we can do this, we’ll develop people’s confidence in combating corruption.
