NA Chairwoman’s IPU-138 participation, Netherlands visit successful

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and a Vietnamese delegation arrived in Hanoi on Friday, successfully concluding Vietnam’s participation at the 138th IPU Assembly in Geneva and her official visit to the Netherlands.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee for External Affairs Nguyen Van Giau said as a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly Executive Committee, Vietnam played a key role at the regional meetings. Vietnam showed high responsibility through reports on activities of the IPU Executive Committee delivered at the event, which reflected fully and clearly Vietnam’s viewpoints. The country also participated in all conferences in the framework of the event.

Mr. Giau said NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan’s official visit to the Netherlands was a success. The visit further deepened the two countries’ relations by expanding their strategic partnership on two more areas and strengthening friendship and multifaceted cooperation.

Through the visit, Vietnam affirmed its commitment to actively joining multi-lateral parliamentary diplomatic activities, and upholding the Vietnamese legislative body’s role at IPU’s forums towards boosting diplomatic efforts for both national and regional interests.
