NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man receives US Ambassador Marc Knapper in Hanoi

Man said the two countries' parliamentary groups and MPs have increased exchanges in legislative work and overseeing the implementation of signed agreements.

NA Chairman Man proposed that the two sides effectively implement the Vietnam-US Joint Declaration and Action Plan to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025. The two countries' parliaments should enhance the exchange of delegations at all levels, said the Vietnamese top legislator.

Mr. Man proposed that the US continue to consider recognition of Vietnam's market economy status.

US Ambassador Marc Knapper responded to the National Assembly Chairman's proposals on recognizing Vietnam's market economy, saying he would contact ministries and sectors to address this issue.
