That is, by 2030, the 100th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam will be a developing country with modern industry and upper middle income status. By 2045,  the 100th anniversary of Vietnam’s establishment, it will become a developed, high-income country. This is also the political and economic basis for Vietnam to make a commitment of net zero emissions by 2050.

To achieve these goals, Vietnam wishes to have the support and assistance of international friends, including the ILO, Chairman Hue said and asked the ILO to support the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs in decision making and the National Assembly of Vietnam to build an institution for development, just energy transition and digital transformation.

The ILO Director General said his organization and Vietnam have maintained a good, long-term and effective cooperative relationship, adding that Vietnam has recovered well from the COVID-19 pandemic. Vietnam is also one of the successful countries in realizing the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, he said.
