NA Chairman pays tribute to martyrs in Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue

(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue offered incense at Quang Tri citadel and released a wreath on the Thach Han River in the central province of Quang Tri in honor of fallen combatants on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of Vietnam’s  War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).

Mr. Hue said that the sacrifice of the heroic soldiers during the 81-day battle to defend Quang Tri township and Quang Tri citadel in 1972 symbolizes Vietnam’s revolutionary heroism, encouraging the army and people to achieve final victory in 1975. 

Chairman Hue also offered incense at Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery and Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemetery, visited a memorial complex dedicated to former Party leader Le Duan, and presented gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers and people who rendered services to the nation in Quang Tri province. 

On Saturday, Chairman Hue paid tribute to martyrs in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue and visited the family of martyr Ton That Canh - Hero of the People's Armed Forces, and war invalid Tran Ba Luu.
