The top legislator hosted a reception in Hanoi on Monday for former Speaker of the Republic of Korea’s National Assembly Byeong-seug.
Both men exchanged open views on the fields that the two sides should step up cooperation, including the building of favorable legal frameworks to increase two-way trade in a more balanced and sustainable manner.
They also discussed the RoK’s expanded provision of official development assistance (ODA) with increased preferential treatment and loaning conditions suitable to international practices and encouraged major enterprises of the RoK to open innovation and R&D centers in Vietnam.
The two sides exchanged views on promoting cooperation in new and potential fields, such as equitable energy transition; digital transformation, digital economy; semiconductor sector; visa policy for experts; expanding Korean educational institutions in Vietnam; and perfecting policies and laws related to the global minimum tax.
