Addressing the opening of the 20th session of the 18th Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, in Thanh Hoa city on Monday, Chairman Man said the National Assembly has just passed the Resolution on National Marine Spatial Planning from 2021 to 2030, with a vision to 2050. This first planning built under the Planning Law will establish a legal basis to maximize the potential and advantages of Vietnam's seas and islands, including 18,000 square km of sea area in Thanh Hoa province, he said.

“Thanh Hoa must continue to evaluate the implementation of the central policies, including the National Assembly’s Resolution 37 on piloting specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Thanh Hoa province. Currently, only more than 10 localities in Vietnam are applying such resolutions from the National Assembly. This is a favorable condition for socio-economic development.”

The NA Chairman also urged Thanh Hoa to make tourism a key economic sector, increase investment in construction of transport and socio-economic infrastructure, speed up digital and green transformation, and mobilize resources to upgrade digital infrastructure.

He stressed the need to simplify administrative procedures, ensure openness and transparency, and adopt solutions to manage and use public investment capital most effectively. Chairman Man emphasized the task of improving lives of the people, especially local ethnic minorities, and taking good care of social security and welfare.
