Muslims around the globe celebrate Eid al-Adha

In the early morning, Muslims in Iraq gathered at mosques to pray for peace to return to their country. Security forces were on duty and roads leading to mosques were blockaded to prevent any possible attacks.

In Egypt which has experienced widespread political violence, people reunited with families and enjoyed meals together as tradition demands.

Syrians, who have been enduring 2 years of violence and political chaos, went to mosques to pray for better times. 

Muslims in Indonesia and the Philippines celebrated their feast and prayed for peace and happiness for people all around the world.
